5.1 DRAW: Choose Your Drawing Prompt (Due December 6)
Choose Your Drawing Prompt (15 points)
Learning Objective: I can use a prompt to spark my creativity and to illustrate an idea.
For this assignment you will be creating your weekly drawing by choosing one of the following prompts to guide your drawing:
- Wishing Well
- Woolly Mammoth
- Banjo
These drawing prompts will give you a chance to really explore different objects and genres of drawing. If you feel strongly that you would like to draw something that is not on the list, please contact me for permission first. Now that you have learned about using value and shading, I expect to see these skills used in your weekly drawings. Challenge yourself by drawing out of your comfort zone.
Criteria of the Drawing:
- This drawing should take you at least 30 minutes.
- This drawing should be done on a piece of unlined paper.
- Your drawings should NEVER be traced from a book, magazine, or computer screen. That is considered cheating and is also a form of plagiarism.
- This drawing should take up the ENTIRE SPACE in your photo. There should never be one object drawn in the middle of the page with blank space around it. You may use a drawing space as small as 5"x5" and as large as 12"x12".
- You can choose the drawing medium (pencil, ink, colored pencil, etc.)
- You must use at least some shading or color in these drawings.
